New Media Intelligence is an eight year old, profitable, privately held company with offices in London and Manchester. The firm was originally backed by the Prince's Trust and the Manchester Technology Management Centre. As a pioneer in its field the firm developed its own web content monitoring application. It continues to invest in this core technology.
NMI has provided web monitoring services since 1999. The experience has led the firm to adopt a distinctive "tailored" approach to web monitoring. What this means in practice is that clients are able to fine tune what they monitor and how they receive their results.
The firm provides genuinely objective news monitoring as it does not form part of a larger media organization and does not accept advertising on its portal. NMI provides monitoring to companies in business sectors ranging from alcoholic drinks to waste management (we're hoping for a zoo client soon). The firm also works with PR agencies and with other partner organisations concerned with tracking and understanding news on the web.
